- Santa's Little Helpers Charity Lunch
Texas Roadhouse will open for a free lunch and treat guests to a delicious pulled pork sandwich, complete with two made-from-scratch side items and a drink in exchange for a donation to one of the two charities listed below. Purchase your holiday gift cards at the Texas Roadhouse during Santa?s Little Helpers Charity Luncheon, and 10% of your total purchase will be donated back to the 2008 charities of choice! Habitat for Humanity?s Women Build: The Women Build project sponsored by Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County has united over 100 powerful women throughout Laramie County to raise the funds and materials to build a home for a local family in need. Once women volunteers have raised $75,000 to fully fund a Habitat for Humanity home, they will begin construction of the home which is slated for completion by the end of summer 2009. Your donation will give Women Build volunteers an opportunity to build a better community, one home at a time. Salvation Army: The Salvation Army provides a wide range of social services to families throughout the Cheyenne area. Programs include a daily feeding program, emergency food box program, emergency family services in utility assistance, Sally House, clothing assistance and worship opportunities.

- Jingle Bell Run
The Arthritis Foundation is seeking runners and walkers to participate in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis on Saturday, December 6 at City Park in Fort Collins. The Arthritis Foundation?s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis takes place in communities nationwide to raise awareness of arthritis, the nation?s leading cause of disability, while raising desperately needed funds for research, health education and government advocacy to improve the lives of people with arthritis. It takes place every year during the holiday season and participants don festive holiday costumes, tie jingle bells to their shoelaces and join their neighbors in support of the Arthritis Foundation?s mission to prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases. The event offers a USTAF certified 5K run/walk with a festive environment, including costume contests, a children?s 1K snowman scramble, and a sponsor expo along with post race refreshments and awards. Participants can run or walk in honor of a friend or family member with arthritis, or to show that they are taking control of their arthritis. The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Conservatory is open weekends from 11am to 3:30pm and the grounds are open from sunrise to sunset. The conservatory is open 8am-4:30pm Mondays through Fridays. Visit www.botanic.org
